How CSA Works
Become a LEHNE FARM CSA member to provide your family’s fresh produce needs
- Receive a weekly box of carefully washed, diverse and pre-selected produce, hand harvested at its peak freshness and nutritional value
- To help with your menu planning and grocery shopping a “Weekly Preview List” will be posted on Wednesday afternoons at the top of this CSA Harvest Box page
- We make sure the market value of your harvest box is more than the “average” weekly price in quantity, variety and quality. You will easily have a week’s worth of produce to complement any meal
- Large Share – feeds approx. 4 people per week and contains a variety of different types of produce depending on the season
- Small Share – feeds up to 3 people per week also containing a seasonal variety of produce
- Newsletters provided with recipes, produce information and updates, farm news and events
- Bonus Fruit Add-On Option: We experimented with this option in 2011 and it was a success. The Bonus Fruit Add-On option is in addition to the normal fruit we put into the CSA Harvest Boxes. The cost is an extra $60.00. We will put this extra amount of fruit into these Harvest Boxes 6 times throughout the CSA season. This option is only available to the first 30 CSA members who sign up and pay for this option. Contact us if you have any questions.
We would like to offer to help you develop “Pick-Up Groups” within the LEHNE FARM CSA membership. There are many reasons to create these groups…they would lower the carbon footprint of this food even more, they would save on gas money in your monthly budget, and they would help to strengthen community ties. If you are interested in sharing pick-up responsibilities with other LEHNE FARM CSA members who live in close proximity to you please let us know.
