LEHNE FARM CSA General Information:

Our 2019 CSA members will receive fresh produce in 10 weeks of boxes, delivered every-other week over a 20 week CSA season, which runs 22 June to 26 October. Our CSA membership is ideal for anyone interested in enjoying “Locally Grown, Farm-Fresh, Vine-Ripe Produce…Your Natural Choice!”  To effectively communicate with our CSA members, we provide a weekly printed CSA newsletter when you pick up your Harvest Box. This CSA newsletter includes a list of produce information of what is in the weekly Harvest Box, “Farm Notes” and suggested recipes. In addition, usually on Wednesdays prior to delivery, we email members a ‘sneak peek’ list of what will be in the weekly Harvest Box, which our members have said helps in grocery list planning. If you are interested, we also send out a separate weekly Farm email update during the Harvest Season, which includes information about U-Pick and farm events, etc.  If you are interested in receiving these Farm email updates, please sign up by following the subscribe link at the green box to the right. If you have more questions, feel free to call Glen at 402-350-3203 or email him at: glenlehne@gmail.com

LEHNE FARM CSA members understand that each growing season has its unique challenges. As with all agricultural produce, there is a potential for crop failures due to weather, pests or other factors beyond our control.  When you buy into our CSA membership program, from time to time, you may have to assume some of the farming risks with us.  It is impossible for us to provide perfect produce; to offset the risk, we grow a wide range of produce, ensuring a variety of food to fill your share all season long.  As members of the farm we all share in the risks and rewards of each growing season.

Sometimes our Spring weather causes delays in our planting and ripening dates.  If that happens, during the first few weeks, your CSA Harvest Box might tend to have fewer items in it.  However, by the middle of the CSA season we have a larger variety of produce available for the Harvest Boxes.  Over the course of the CSA season, you can rest assured that the value of your CSA Harvest Box generously exceeds the amount you paid for it.
